FNL Mentoring

"Mentoring taught me that no matter who you
are or what your personality is, there will
always be someone who accepts you.
"

FNL Mentoring matches 7th and 8th grade "Proteges" with older-wiser 10th-12th grade "Mentors" from the neighboring high school, who meet once a week after school for structured and supervised (yet FUN) activities.

About FNL Mentoring:

In 1998, the partnership began a pilot process for FNL Mentoring. The five original counties had great success and within two years had developed the FNL Mentoring Model. The primary focus of the FNL/CL/FNL Kids/FNL Mentoring Programs is to form youth/adult partnerships with young people, providing programs rich in opportunities and support, so young people will be less likely to engage in problem behaviors, more likely to achieve in school, and more likely to attend higher education or secure a full-time job.

The Mission: FNL Mentoring (FNLM) provides opportunities for young people to be in caring relationships which strengthen a young person's resiliency to the challenges they face in life.
